Musician Michael McGuire is inviting to the public to enjoy “The Good Side of the Grass” at 7 p.m. on Sunday, November 4 at the Mission Viejo Civic Center, 200 Civic Center.
The Good Side of the Grass is a celebration of McGuire beating cancer, a diagnosis he received last December. Eight “trombonologists” from Orange and LA counties will join him along with a pianist, bassist and drummer in performing classic pieces by Bach, Lauritsen, Satie and several others.
“It will be a joyous event with many different kinds of music all expressing my love of music, particularly as performed on trombones,” McGuire said.
The free concert is sponsored by the Mission Viejo Friends of the Arts. Donations are welcome to help support the committee’s work in the community.
