Police are seeking the driver of a car who fled the scene after his partner in crime stole a purse from a parked car near a pet store on Tuesday.
The incident happened around 12:15 p.m. when witnesses said they saw a man steal a purse by smashing the window of a car that was parked in front of the Pet’s Plus store on Marguerite Parkway.
The suspect was a passenger of an older model Chevy van driven by another man that fled the area northbound on Marguerite. A Sheriff’s sergeant spotted the car near the intersection of Vista Del Lago and Marguerite. The driver immediately fled on foot, and the passenger was held at gunpoint until other police units arrived.
The stolen purse was recovered, and the passenger was taken into custody for possession of stolen property. The other suspect is still on the loose. Investigators are currently following up on leads to locate and arrest him.
