A 46-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night after assaulting a golfer at the Casta del Sol golf course.
The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. when the golfer, who was with friends, was confronted by the drunken man who snuck onto the course. He accused the golfer of moving his ball, and then punched one of his friends in the face. He then hopped onto the golfer’s cart and struck him in the arms with his golf club, causing injury. The suspect was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and booked into Men’s Central Jail.

Nicely done. Except he forgot to yell, “Fore!” before assaulting the other party. Funny, I was expecting a lot more class from such a crime-free city as MVJ. On an unrelated note, the golf club in question along Marguerite is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Several times I have been driving in the eastbound lane only to have an errant golfball fly unexpectedly from the course directly in front of my vehicle. Each time, it only missed smashing the windshield by millimeters.
