Residents seeking a cornucopia of food, fun and music to satisfy any palate should pack their chairs and blankets and head to the Village Green on Saturday, July 28 for the Target Symphony in the Cities featuring the Pacific Symphony. The Prelude in the Park festivities, which include a nod to Paris, kick off at 4 p.m. at Oso Viejo Park, 24932 Veterans Way.
Foodies will savor authentic Liege waffles; tasty Neapolitan wood-fired pizza; and mouth-watering pulled pork and tri-tip sandwiches. Aperitifs can be enjoyed in the Wine and Beer Garden hosted by the Mission Viejo Rotary Club or refreshing passion fruit iced tea while watching local waiters compete for a $500 grand prize in the Waiters’ Race presented by the Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce. Snacking on ice cream, fresh fruit or Kettle Korn, concert-goers can stroll along the “Champs Ellyse” and enjoy pre-concert entertainment by the brass choir BonesWest; interactive family activities; a mime, plein air painting demonstrations; storytelling; a children’s musical playground; and “Abbit the Average.”
Visitors to this popular outdoor event are encouraged to bring a canned or non-perishable food item to benefit the South County Outreach Food Pantry. Collection boxes will be located near the main entrance.

We were asked to volunteer at last year’s Target symphony and really enjoyed it. Do you need any volunteers for next week’s performance? We would be more than happy to help out. Thank you. Home number: (949) 643-9951.
