The newly renovated Carl’s Jr. at 27092 Paz Road (near Marguerite Parkway) reopens on Tuesday, June 26. The drive-through is available and the beautifully renovated eatery will bring 25 jobs back to our community.

Pin is a 1,260-square-foot sports-themed restaurant that is scheduled to open early July in the Gateway Center on Alicia Parkway next to Cold Stone Creamery. The restaurant will be open 7 days a week featuring hamburgers, wings, sandwiches, pizza and beer and wine. The Mission Viejo residents who own Pin also recently opened Bobalishes, which sells coffee, tea, and smoothie beverages at 25108 Marguerite Parkway near La Paz Road.
Apple Ranch Market is planning to open next month at 24042 Alicia Parkway in the Gateway Center. The 5,935-square-foot market will sell groceries, fresh produce and bread and pastries baked daily onsite. The deli will serve breakfast, sandwiches, salads and fresh juice. The owners of Apple Ranch Market also own the Hatam restaurant on Jeronimo Road.
The new Chase Bank that is under construction at 25112 Marguerite Parkway is expected to open on August 7.
Businesses continue to expand, open and relocate here
Mission Viejo’s second Grill Hut restaurant opened last week at 27756 Santa Margarita Parkway next to the new Baja Fish Tacos in the Trabuco Hills Center. The restaurant is open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and from noon to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday. Information: 457-1300.
This month, City leaders and Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce members celebrated the grand opening of two new Mission Viejo businesses with ribbon-cutting ceremonies. Club Cafe Bakery (26051 La Paz Road) opened on June 6 and RE/Max Prestige Properties opened June 14. This new real estate business is located on the first floor of the Alicia Plaza Executive Suites at 23120 Alicia Parkway.

The Finish Line is slated for the former Lane Bryant space on the upper level of The Shops at Mission Viejo. Construction begins early next month and the store is expected to be open in September. Proposed projects to Planning & Transportation Commission
The Planning and Transportation Commission on July 9 will consider an application for a 4,131-square-foot Ball Park Pizza restaurant in the Mission Foothill Marketplace on Los Alisos. The proposed restaurant would include a 320-square foot patio seating area along the front (east) elevation. Planning and Transportation Commission meetings are held in the Council Chamber at City Hall beginning at 6:30 p.m.

City to host Small Business workshops
Business workshops are available each month in Mission Viejo through a City partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), SCORE, the Employment Development Department (EDD), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the OC Small Business Development Center (OC SBDC), and the State Board of Equalization (SBOE). Each of the small business workshops will be held at Mission Viejo City Hall, 200 Civic Center.
SCORE is now accepting reservations for the Kick Start Your Marketing Workshop on Tuesday, July 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Saddleback Room at City Hall. The cost is $30 with online pre-registration at www.score114.org or $40 at the door.
On Wednesday, July 25 beginning at 2:00 p.m., the Internal Revenue Service will offer the “A Fresh Start for Struggling Small Businesses and Individuals” workshop. Immediately following, the State Board of Equalization will discuss a program about the inability to pay your sales and use taxes.
