Lancia Rajanayagam has had a longtime love affair with cooking and sharing her culinary expertise with others. On Friday, she will demonstrate her talent with a special cooking demonstration at the Mission Viejo Farmers Market.
Lancia works with market vendors Gonestraw Farms and Drake Family Farms, which boast duck and chicken eggs and fresh goat cheese, respectively. Her demonstration, “Enjoying Summer’s Beautiful Fresh Bounty at your Local Farmers Market,” will feature a Bruschetta with goat cheese, tomatoes and olive oil as well as a special avocado pudding made with a “secret” ingredient. Fresh produce from market vendors will be used to whip up her creations at 10 a.m. and then again at 11:30 a.m. Lancia says the Mission Viejo Farmers Market is a great resource for the community.
“The City of Mission Viejo is working with Mission Hospital and is providing the venue for residents to have the opportunity to eat local and enjoy great fresh produce available at their fingertips every week,” she said.
The Farmers Market is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday in the Civic Center courtyard at 200 Civic Center. Before you go, be sure to download the special market coupon at http://cityofmissionviejo.org/farmersmarket/. The coupon runs through July 13.
