Saddleback College radio station KSBR 88.5FM and the City of Mission Viejo are gearing up for the next “Breakfast with Gary and Kelly” radio for TV broadcast featuring renowned saxman Michael Lington on May 5.
The Saturday morning radio show will broadcast live starting at 9 a.m. from the Norman P. Murray Community Center, 24932 Veterans Way. A studio audience will be welcomed in for the 10 a.m. to noon show; doors will open at 9:30 a.m. with the final hour being videotaped for later broadcast. The program airs on the City’s MVTV Channel 30 at 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday through Sunday. The audience will be admitted for free but seating is limited. Michael Lington has headlined the Playboy Jazz Festival, performed for President Bill Clinton and toured and recorded with a galaxy of stars including Grammy-winning vocalist Michael Bolton, Lee Ritenour, Brian Culbertson and others. His new release, “Pure,” includes appearances by Ritenour, Culbertson, Bolton and Ray Parker Jr. and has been a smash since it came out in February.
The broadcast will be part of the City’s 6th annual “Arts Alive Festival,” which this year will focus on the arts relevant to the 1950s. The festival will provide a large-scale community project as well as an opportunity to learn, participate and expand one’s mind into the world of art. The event will include a progression of “Outdoor Studios” offering hands-on creative activities for education, interaction, volunteering and everything art. Parking will be limited onsite and shuttles will provide transportation to participants from City Hall, 200 Civic Center.
