Summer is starting early at the Mission Viejo Family YMCA, which will host a Summer Kick-Off Carnival and Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 28. This free community event is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 27341 Trabuco Circle.
The fun-filled summer celebration will feature game booths; face painting; Lizard Wizard and Mad Scientist; a BMX Bike Show; interactive DJ; Marine boot camp, Kona ice truck; and a kids do-it-yourself workshop. Folks can also meet and greet local firefighters and police. Early registration and special offers will be available for membership, summer camps, swim and sports.
Raffle drawings will be held at the end of the day. Bring a donation of diapers or baby essentials for homeless families and receive a $10- off program coupon. The first 125 children to attend will get a free T-shirt.
