When you stop by the Mission Viejo Farmers Market on Friday be sure to check out “Aloha Grindz” and “Mangi Con Amore” for some truly “good eats.”
Through his company Aloha Grindz, Troy Ujimori produces some of the best breads on the mainland. All varieties are homemade and made without butter and milk and with only one egg per loaf. The bread contains vegetable oil, white flour and sugar. It sells for $7 per loaf and the delectable banana bread comes with a variety of toppings such as walnuts, chocolate chips, white chocolate blueberries, cranberries or you can enjoy it plain. Specialty breads are $9 and include carrot cake with pineapple and raisin or banana bread with coconut and chocolate chips topped with sweet butterscotch.
Over at Mangi Con Amore, “deliziosa” sauces, pastas, meats and specialty foods made with the finest all-natural ingredients are aplenty and complement the company’s namesake, which means “Eat with Love”!
The products are made in Southern California and are crafted from homemade Italian family recipes. Company chefs were trained in Italy’s food capital of Bologna. There are no preservatives, trans fats or artificial colorings in their products, and the company says their food is prepared for you “with love.”
The Mission Viejo Farmers Market is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Friday in the central courtyard at the Mission Viejo Civic Center, 200 Civic Center. For more information, visit http://cityofmissionviejo.org/farmersmarket.
