Two young girls who were reported as missing were found last night hiding behind a tree.
The girls, both 10, were reported missing around 6 p.m. after their parents discovered they were gone and searched the area. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department searched by ground, air and through bloodhounds before the helicopter personnel spotted the girls around 8:45 p.m. on a hillside by a tree near La Paz and Spadra.
The girls were cold and scared but in good health and were returned to their grateful and relieved parents. The girls said that they walked up a path from the park and got lost but were too afraid to ask anyone for help, so they hid behind a tree.

The amount of time and energy looking for these girls. While I understand it, I just hope there was some kind of punishment instilled by their parents. Maybe some community service. This day and age most kids this age have cell phones, guess they didn’t?
Hard to tell from the article, but perhaps the girls were doing as they were told by NOT talking to strangers, especially at night.
