An impressive display of colorful topography designs is now showcased along Mission Viejo’s Parkway Gallery through June.
The photos, which were selected by the City’s Cultural Arts Committee, are part of a special art exhibit within ART pilasters in the median islands along Crown Valley Parkway. The City in 2009 unveiled Parkway Gallery, Orange County’s first art gallery enjoyable by car. The art work is rotated throughout the year.
The work is that of British artist Peter Betts, who has painted and sold over 400 watercolors echoing the Chinese style of brushwork and subjects such as horses, cats and dogs. Betts has also had eight books of cartoons published.
With pieces from his “Contours” exhibit on display for motorists to see, Betts offers a unique view of the land he now lives in. This collection of paintings and limited edition prints offers a topographical perception of a widening circle of U.S. locations starting from his home in Orange County. The specific contour elevations and color combinations create subtle and exciting impressions of each site. For more information, visit the City’s website at www.cityofmissionviejo.org.
