If you visit the Mission Viejo Library, be sure to stop by the Heritage Room to see a vivid collection of early California Impressionist painters.
Jeff Olsen, a former Mission Viejo resident, has been collecting early California watercolor and oil paintings for more than 25 years. Paintings from his collection have been exhibited at museums and public spaces throughout the state. The work on display in the Heritage Room at the Mission Viejo Library is a sampling of important early California artists and subject matter.
The paintings by Darwin Duncan; Emil Kosa, Jr.; Axel Linus; Ralph Hulett; Harold Gretzer; Norman Yeckley; and Frederick Pawla represent landscapes and City scenes that capture the essence of early California.
The Mission Viejo Library is located at 100 Civic Center.
