The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center is joining thousands of other animal welfare organizations throughout the nation in recognizing February 28, 2012 as World Spay Day.
This special day provides a unique opportunity for everyone who cares about animals to join together for a common goal to promote spaying and neutering for all companion animals. Spay/neuter is a permanent, 100 percent effective method of sterilization for dogs, cats, and rabbits. When we spay and neuter our pets, we ensure that our animals will not contribute to the nation’s pet overpopulation problems. In addition, we keep our pets healthy and safe from diseases such as mammary tumors and testicular cancer.
The message of World Spay Day is that by spaying or neutering your pet, by supporting spay/neuter efforts in the United States and abroad, and by informing others of the importance of spay/neuter, you become part of the solution.
For more information on the importance of spaying and neutering and for low-cost spay and neuter options, call the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center at 949-470-3045.
