A man is facing drunk driving charges after he crashed his car into a light pole Thursday night.
The incident happened around 9:40 p.m. when Travis Clater, 37, was driving a black Chevy Tahoe heading southbound on Santa Margarita Parkway and lost control, flipped the car and collided with a light pole north of Los Alisos. Clater was the only one in the car and was not injured. Deputies conducted field sobriety tests and later arrested him for driving under the influence. A preliminary test showed the driver’s blood alcohol content to be over twice the legal limit. Edison also responded to the scene for the downed light pole.
