Kaleidoscope Entertainment Center has kicked off its “Purple Hearts Campaign” benefiting a non-profit organization dedicated to helping wounded service members and their families and the families of the fallen.
Participating Kaleidoscope businesses will raise money through Purple Heart Donation Cards, which will be displayed in windows, for the nonprofit “Freedom Is Not Free.” Kaleidoscope and Freedom Is Not Free have also partnered through Facebook. For every fan that “likes” Kaleidoscope, $1.00 will be donated to Freedom Is Not Free. Medical Uniforms will donate 20 percent of all purple uniforms that are sold from February 1 – 14 to Freedom Is Not Free.
On Sunday, February 12, Kaleidoscope will host “A Tribute to our Nation’s Heroes and Their Families” from noon to 3 p.m. at the entertainment center off Crown Valley Parkway. The event will include special performances – including synchronized ice-skating numbers, dance performances and music theatre performances and more. Jay Kopelman, bestselling author of “From Baghdad With Love,” will speak and sign books, and Mayor Frank Ury will be on hand for the festivities. Military personnel with ID will be offered discounts at certain Kaleidoscope businesses.
