A man was arrested Saturday for allegedly smashing a man’s vehicle with a sign after leaving a local bar.
Trent Haryung, 24, was booked into the Men’s Central Jail facing felony vandalism charges.
The incident happened just before 2:30 a.m. when Haryung walked from Patsy’s Bar to the Shell Station located on the corner of Los Alisos and Jeronimo and tried to enter the business. Since it was after hours, the doors were locked and customers only had access to the gas pumps. Haryung, who was intoxicated, beat on the doors to the Shell Station, but an employee inside refused to unlock them. The man then grabbed a metal sign, walked up to the employee’s vehicle, which was the only car near the station, and smashed it repeatedly causing much damage. He then fled the scene on foot and was found a few blocks away in Lake Forest by a witness who followed him. Deputies arrested Haryung, who was later positively identified by the Shell employee.
