Mary Jane Clark, the New York Times bestselling author of the “Wedding Cake Mystery” series will appear in the first Writers Present program of the new year on January 27.
Mary Jane, who has authored 12 other novels, will discuss her second book – “The Look of Love” – in the series at 3 p.m. in the Friends’ Community Room at the Mission Viejo Library, 100 Civic Center. This fun-filled free event will feature tea and cake.
Set in the City of Angels, Mary Jane’s mystery novel features heroine Piper Donovan, a struggling actress and wedding cake designer who becomes immersed in a “picture-perfect” plan for murder. The book is an old-fashioned whodunit set in a modern world that’s high on suspense and low on gore.
Mary Jane is a veteran writer and producer for CBS News, where she worked for almost three decades from the network’s New York City headquarters. Like the novel’s heroine, Mary Jane has a mother who made customized cakes for the neighborhood kids when she was growing up.
