Families with children ages 5 and older are invited to explore the beauty of Mission Viejo’s Oso Creek Trail on Saturday, January 21 during an educational and fun guided walk led by naturalist Joel Robinson.
With an abundance of birds migrating to Orange County to escape harsh winter temperatures of other regions, this is an exciting time to observe the natural environment boasting a diversity of organisms adapted to hospitable conditions. After the first rains, new growth appears almost instantaneously.
During this scenic tour, participants will explore the Oso Creek trail at a leisurely pace and identify various plants and animals. They’ll forage leaves before returning to the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center to make some hot “toyon” tea. The event is from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and takes step from the community center.
Kids must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Cost is $3 per person and registration is available by calling 470-8488 or online at econnect.cityofmissionviejo.org by referencing course #2594.
