The public is invited to attend an exciting Lord of the Strings concert January 14 featuring an award-winning guitar musician on January 14.
The 7 p.m. concert features Carl Verheyen, a wildly successful, multi-faceted guitar player who has won numerous polls and musical honors in the U.S., Germany, France, Italy and the UK.
He has been one of Los Angeles’ elite “first call” session players for the past 25 years, playing on hundreds of records and movie soundtracks. As a member of the British rock group Supertramp since 1985, Carl has played to millions of enthusiastic fans in sold-out arenas worldwide. As the creative force behind the Carl Verheyen Band, he has released an impressive and eclectic discography that showcases his endless talents across a wide array of musical genres. Carl was the featured soloist at the 2009 Academy Awards and voted “One of the Top 10 Guitar Players in the World” by Guitar Magazine and “One of the Top 100 Guitarists of All Time” by Classic Rock Magazine. Carl was chosen as the “Best Guitarist of 1998″ at the LA Music Awards and “Best Studio Guitarist” by Guitar Player Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards.
Carl’s Solo Guitar Improvisations CD of 2001 has become a highly-respected work of solo guitar containing both original compositions and a compelling array of cover tunes by Joni Mitchell, Chet Atkins, Ray Davis, Billie Holiday and the Gershwins.
