An impressive display of colorful topography map designs featuring local cities is now showcased at the Mission Viejo Library through January 26.
The work is that of British artist Peter Betts, whose career has taken him from the drawing board on projects such as Concorde to marketing manager for international concerns: Philips, Bosch and Sanyo. He has painted and sold more than 400 watercolors echoing the Chinese style of brushwork and subjects: horses, cats and dogs. He has also had eight books of cartoons published.
With his “Contours,” on display at the library, Betts offers a unique view of the land we live in. This 22-piece collection of paintings and limited-edition prints offers a topographical perception of various environs in the country. Some of his work will also be featured along the Crown Valley Parkway Gallery beginning early February.
The Mission Viejo Library is located at 100 Civic Center. For more information, call 470-8440.
