City preparing for holiday hours

As City Hall prepares for its upcoming holiday hours, the public is encouraged to be aware of facility operating hours and handle of any necessary business by December 23.

City Hall will be closed from December 26 through January 2.

Police, fire and other essential emergency City services will not be impacted by the closure, but the public should be aware of the following:

Building Services Division: The City’s Building Services Division at City Hall, 200 Civic Center, will conduct building inspections December 27 through December 30. Requests for inspections are available by calling 949-222-4694.

Mission Viejo Animal Services Center: The Animal Services Center at 28095 Hillcrest will be closed on December 24 and December 25 in honor of the Christmas holiday.  Limited staff will be available to respond to emergency calls only.  The center will be open normal operating hours from December 26-30 and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. The facility will be closed on January 1 in observation of the New Year.  Again, limited staff will be available for emergencies. 

Mission Viejo Library: The library at 100 Civic Center will be closed from December 24-26. The facility will be open normal hours from December 27-31. It will be closed on January 1-2 the holiday.
 During the closure, patrons can access the library’s catalog to renew materials, visit databases, download eBooks, and place holds, by visiting www.cmvl.org.

Community Center: The Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center at 24932 Veterans Way will be closed December 24 through December 26. It will close at 5 p.m. on December 30 and will be closed on December 31 as well as January 1-2. Information about the center is available by calling 949-470-3062.

Recreation and Tennis Centers: Montanoso Recreation and Fitness Center at 25800 Montanoso Drive will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. December 24; and closed on Dec. 25. The center will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on December 31 and 8 a.m. to noon on January 1.

Sierra Recreation and Fitness Center at 26887 Recodo Lane will be closed December 24-25 and December 31-January 1.

Marguerite Tennis Center at 23840 Marguerite Parkway will be closed December 24-25 and December 31 and January 1.

Felipe Tennis Center at 27161 Nogal will be open from 6:30 a.m. to noon on December 24, closed December 25,  and open 6:30 a.m. to noon on December 31 and January 1.

For more information or to request any service, call the City’s main number at 949-470-3000.  Residents can also take advantage of using the City’s innovative Access MV 24/7 system, which is accessible from the City’s homepage at www.cityofmissionviejo.org.
