Mission Viejo Pony Baseball will host a Winter Baseball Camp Dec. 19-21 featuring a batting instructor for a Major League Baseball team.
The camp is designed to help players gear up for the upcoming spring season. It will be led by Dave Hansen, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ head batting instructor.
The camp will take place in two sessions – from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from noon to 2:30 p.m. at Oso Viejo Park. The camp is open to all players ages 8 – 15 who live in Mission Viejo or the surrounding cities. The camp is also open to all Pony Baseball, Little League or Travel Ball Baseball players.
Participants will benefit from the expertise of Dave Hansen, who instructs top Major League Baseball players Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier and James Loney on a daily basis during the professional Major League season. Hansen played professional baseball for 15 years, 10 of those with the Dodgers organization. He lives in South Orange County, and his 9 year-old son plays in the Mission Viejo Pony Baseball league. He is donating his time for free.
Cost for the camp is $125 per player. All funds will cover camp expenses or will go toward purchasing items and equipment for the upcoming season. The fee includes all activities, a camp T-shirt, gold leaf camp certificate as well as an autograph and a photo with Dave Hansen and guest Dodger players.
