The Trabuco Hills High School Boys Cross Country Team was recognized by the City Council this week for winning the CIF State Championships.
The recognition part of City Council meetings is designed to highlight programs and events and recognize groups and individuals for making a difference in the community.
The team of dedicated young athletes certainly displayed talent and sportsmanship in their recent win.
“This team is one of the greatest if not the greatest teams that I have coached,” said Head Coach Liam Clemons.
Dedicated to the sport, team members average 60 to 70 miles a week in training. Each received a special certificate from Mayor Dave Leckness on Monday.
Also led by Assistant Coaches Hartzell Alpizar; Jace Hinesly; Jacob Griswold; and Ron Bottomley, the team includes Jared Hazlett; Nick Plumb; Naoki Omatsu; Kevin Marshall; Max Moncur; Luke Dorman Brendan Mc Cabe; and alternates Trevor Bishop and Chris Ceja.
