When the City Council reconvenes after the holidays on Tuesday January 3, Council Member Frank Ury will serve as Mayor and Council Member Rhonda Reardon as Mayor Pro Tem. The Council members were selected to serve in the one-year posts by their colleagues during the City Council’s annual reorganization on Monday.
This will be the second mayoral stint for Ury, who served as Mayor in 2009. He served as Mayor Pro Tem this year and in 2006 and 2008. He was first elected in 2004. Reardon was elected by voters in 2010.
Dave Leckness, who served Mission Viejo as Mayor this year, will be honored for his vast contributions to the City on January 3. During Monday’s meeting, his State of the City video premiered and was met with rousing applause. The video will air at 8 p.m. on MVTV Channel 30 for the rest of the month.
The City Council meets the first and third Monday of the month in Council Chamber at City Hall, 200 Civic Center. The Dec. 19 meeting is canceled due to the holidays.
