Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that happened after a mechanic took a sports car for a test drive Monday night.
The incident happened around 7:05 p.m. when the mechanic was test-driving a Lamborghini Murciellago on eastbound Alicia Parkway toward Marguerite Parkway. According to witnesses, he was driving at a high rate of speed and lost control of the Lamborghini causing it to collide into three other vehicles near the intersection at Marguerite. The impact caused the Lamborghini and a Honda to burst into flames. The other two vehicles, a BMW and a Ford sedan, had moderate damage.
Incredibly, none of the drivers were hurt. Because of the number of vehicles involved and all the debris scattered in the roadway, eastbound Alicia Parkway was closed down to one lane for nearly three hours. The investigation is still pending as to the cause of the collision.
