Zeus with volunteer dog walker Susan Hodgin
Zeus has a fan club. No kidding!
This gorgeous white Husky has come a long way since that awful night two months ago when he was hit by a car. Four complete dog loving strangers stopped and helped this injured dog and even kept watch over him until animal control arrived to take him to Animal Urgent Care. Doctors there, along with trained staff, were all about getting his pain under control. DAWG, the non-profit for The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center, immediately got Zeus to an orthopedic surgeon the very next day.
Zeus is still recovering from surgery but no fewer than 60 hands have given him medical care and copious amounts of TLC. Strikingly beautiful it turns out he is a teenage clown about 2 years old. Volunteers walk with him and help him with his therapy but find Zeus pretty darned amusing as he tries to sit in their laps every chance he gets. Somebody forgot to tell Zeus he isn’t a puppy anymore. With his physical therapy sessions almost finished, the dedicated DAWG volunteers are looking forward to seeing Zeus running and playing. Zeus continues to receive 8 walks a day and has his social hour with various members of his fan club.
Zeus is now actively seeking a forever home. Because he is so strong and big he would likely be well suited to a family with older children and someone who either works from home or is otherwise home a good deal of the time. When he is fully healed he will be great as a running partner, camping and joining in lots of family activities. The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center is currently accepting adoption applications. Zeus has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Please call 949-470-3045 or visit www.cmvas.org for further information.

I love a happy ending! And, wow, what a story!! I just know he is going to have a wonderful life from here on out
