About 3,500 people flocked to the City’s annual Hometown Halloween on Saturday for a plethora of activities, wholesome family fun, and the always-popular costume parade featuring Elmo and the Cookie Monster.
Mission Viejo’s signature Halloween event included Abbit the Average, a roving magician who had crowds gathered around him at every stop. There were carnival game booths and seasonal crafts, in addition to a Whacky Witchin’ Kitchen, a “haunted” house for the younger crowd. In here, The Dot Man literally emerged from the wall, and for those brave enough to stick their hand in the cauldron, they found brains (popcorn kernels), eyeballs (grapes), and fingers (cocktail wieners)!
Other attractions at the fall celebration were a hayride, drawn by two beautiful white horses, and pony rides to delight the many budding cowboys and cowgirls.
Guests feasted on tasty fare provided by The Burnt Truck and Dogzilla, two popular food trucks.
The City’s annual Halloween event becomes more popular each year. For more information about upcoming City events, such as the Veterans Day Ceremony, visit cityofmissionviejo.org.
