The City of Mission Viejo Building Services Division is hosting a free Energy Code Training for plans examiners and building inspectors on November 8, 2011, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Saddleback Room 1 at City Hall.
Building energy codes are complex. This new, hands-on course strives to provide plans examiners and building inspectors with the knowledge and skills needed to more quickly and effectively enforce the energy code for nonresidential projects.
Workshop participants will learn to:

Understand the 2008 building energy efficiency standards for nonresidential new construction, additions, and alterations

Understand the purpose of each of the nonresidential compliance forms and related documents

Effectively communicate energy efficiency compliance options and requirements to
builders and clients -
Apply knowledge of the Standards to typical job tasks
