The City of Mission Viejo has joined forces with the Mission Viejo Family YMCA to host a fun-filled “Camp Out with the Mayor” October 22-23.
The free camp out is from 4 p.m. Saturday, October 22 to 10 a.m. Sunday, October 23 on the Oso Creek Trail.
The exciting family event includes music, skits, sing-a-longs, a flashlight hike and much more.
Dinner and breakfast will be provided, and participants should bring a sleeping bag, flashlight, water bottle and tent but not pets. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
For more information and to register for this free event, call 949-470-3075.

You’ve got to be kidding me. You do realize (1) the people that live right above that will be able to hear every word spoken, let along shouted or sung, (2) are you hiring someone to go along and pick up all the dog poop off the grass first?, and (3) there are packs of coyotes that frequent that area every evening.
Sounds like a great time for mission viejo families. Love to camp out and you can’t beat the drive. As for the comment above, you live once so come join the fun!
I agree with Amy! My kids are very excited about this event. Sounds like someone needs some s’mores!
great time at the camp out. Thank you city of Mission viejo. looking forward to next years camp out.
What a great night it was! Hats off to the Mayor and city staff that put put it on. It is another example of why Mission Viejo is the best please to live. To the naught sayers I say “get a life”. Those against the camp out with the mayor remind me of those people who live right on the beach who don’t want to let the public use the beach. And as to the what Susan Emory said #1 Noise -well that what happens when you live next to a park. #2 I saw NO DOG POOP and #3 No Coyotes. Thanks again
Great evening of family fun! Such a great sense of community and small town feel. It was fun, safe, and well planned. Hope to join in the fun again next year!!!
