Judy Schachner, author of the New York Times bestselling “Skippyjon Jones” series, will appear in Mission Viejo’s Writers Present program on Sept. 11.
Schachner will discuss her new book, “Skippyjon Jones Class Action.” Skippyjon Jones is a Siamese cat who wants to be a Chihuahua. The book tells the hilarious tale of the cat’s fun-filled adventure.
Kids and adults alike will enjoy Schachner, who has been illustrating and writing children’s books since 1992 and has given numerous warm and personal presentations in schools and libraries. She is the recipient of many awards – and “Skippyjon Jones” won the first E. B. White Read Aloud Book Award. This beloved author lives in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania with her Siamese cat, Skippy, who served as inspiration for the book’s character.
The Writers Present program is at 2 p.m. in the Saddleback Room at City Hall, 200 Civic Center. Books purchased at the event will be signed by Schachner. This program is sponsored by A Whale of a Tale Bookshoppe and the Friends of the Mission Viejo Library.
