The public on Saturday, Aug. 27 will have the opportunity to recycle old computer monitors, televisions, cell phones and more in a free household and business electronic waste recycling drive meant to benefit the environment and Mission Viejo Library.
The Mission Viejo Library is teaming up with All Green Electronics Recycling to host the free “Electronics Recycling” event from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Mission Viejo Civic Center parking lot at 200 Civic Center.
The event is designed to give residents and businesses the opportunity to properly dispose of computers; mobile phones; televisions; computer parts; toner cartridges; monitors; iPods; DVD players and VCRs; telephones; cables and wires; printers; portable electronics; home entertainment; calculators; and more.
As a community service, All Green Electronics Recycling will make a donation to the Friends of the Mission Viejo Library based upon the amount of materials recycled. People can also request that their items be picked up from home that day.
For more information about items that will be accepted and home pick-ups, visit http://allgreenrecycling.com or call 800-780-0347.

Would it be possible to pick up used cell phones for the Military? One old cell phone will amount to minutes that will give them the opportunity to call home I am the liason to the Orange County South Coast Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America.,
I think it’s a great program to recycle.
Actually, the greatest way to recycle is to re-use. Assuming personal information is cleaned from the electronics, allowing people to pick up or buy is a great way to help the environment. Especially since truly disposing of those pieces takes more carbon than finding it a happy home.
