Vocational Visions and the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center will each receive nearly $3,000 from a nonprofit organization that painted curb addresses to benefit neighborhoods and raise money for its cause.
Care For The Children uses volunteer donations from address painting on curbs to raise funds for its organization and other charities. The organization provides cash and clothing to other charities to benefit the less fortunate. In May, members of Care For The Children painted Mission Viejo curbs at no cost to the City. The organization selected Vocational Visions and the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center to each receive $2,667. The funding represents 20 percent of the net proceeds collected from the project. Vocational Visions provides services for people with developmental and other disabilities. The Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center is dedicated to ensuring that children are raised in healthy, nurturing and safe environments.
The City works with both organizations, which expressed their appreciation for the donation.
“The generous $2,667.60 donation that Care For the Children made to Vocational Visions will help more than 450 men and women with developmental and other disabilities to find and keep jobs, learn life skills, build their education and ultimately increase their independence,” said Katie Tarantino, Vocational Visions marketing & development manager. “We appreciate (Care For the Children’s) willingness to help these men and women reach their professional and personal goals.”
“Thank you for being a partner in our ongoing mission to break the generational cycle of child abuse in Orange County,” said Scott Trotter, executive director of the Orange County Child Abuse Prevention Center. “Your commitment and generosity ensures our goal of promoting healthy families through the provision of services to at-risk children and families in our community.”
