The public is invited to donate blood in a local drive on Aug. 21 that will benefit the Orange County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
The blood drive, which also includes a free 5K run/walk, is at Pro PT located at 27725 Santa Margarita Parkway, Suite 210.
The 5K kicks off at 6:30 a.m. on the corner of Los Alisos and Santa Margarita, with the blood drive following from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
According to the American Red Cross, donating blood saves more than four million American lives each year. Blood is always needed for treatment for trauma victims; patients being treated for cancer, blood diseases and severe burns; and for surgery patients.
