Make plans to attend the Target Symphony in the Cities Concert on Saturday, July 30 featuring the Pacific Symphony led by Music Director Carl St. Clair.
The City’s signature free summer event on the Village Green at Oso Viejo Park attracts people of all ages for a fun-filled afternoon and an enchanting evening under the stars.
This year’s symphony will focus on family fun and youth with the Southern California Children’s Chorus and Pacific Symphony Youth cellist George Ma joining the electrifying mix.
Starting at 4 p.m., concert-goers can enjoy the City’s annual Prelude in the Park: “Hometown Block Party” featuring family activities and games, tasty fare, a wine and beer garden and the musical talents of the Vince, Bob and Buddy Band. Visitors will enjoy activities such as a “fast-pitch”; balloon toss; cake walk; and horseshoes on the lawn. The visual arts will come alive with silhouette caricaturist Nancie Marie; glazing activities for the “Dove of Peace” mural with ceramic artists Jennifer Koons, Melanie Yarak and Cha-Rie Tang; and a circle painting project with popular painter Hiep Nguyen.
Children are invited to participate in hands-on activities in the Musical Playground from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The Pacific Symphony takes center stage at 7 p.m.
Early birds can save their spots on the lawn by placing chairs and blankets at the park after 1 p.m. Complimentary pedicabs and golf carts will be available in the late afternoon and evening to transport concert-goers to and from the parking areas. Free shuttle service will be available from the Mission Viejo Civic Center at 200 Civic Center from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The event takes place at 24932 Veterans Way. For more information, visit www.cityofmissionviejo.org/symphony.

This was another incredible year for this event. Hats off to the MV activities committee and to Target for such a wonderful evening. More activities, food choices, drinks, and a larger Beer Garden were a big plus this year over previous years. The sky-diver fly-in of the American Flag was very exciting and almost seemed a bit scary given the small landing space. Very well planned and orchestrated ( ha ha ) event. Cant wait till next year !!! – Thanks again.
