The Marguerite Tennis Center will serve as a satellite location on Friday, July 29 for the Michael Chang Tennis Classic, which will raise money for victims of Japan’s earthquake and tsunami.
Chang is a former professional tennis player, who’s best remembered for becoming the youngest-ever male player to win a “Grand Slam” singles title when he won the French Open in 1989 at the age of 17.
Matches, featuring novice to advanced (open) players, will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday. The event will feature prize money, awards and gifts.
The City is offering its tennis center to support a great cause. All proceeds will benefit the American Red Cross (Japan Earthquake & Tsunami Relief) and Chang Family Foundation.
The Marguerite Tennis Center is located at 23840 Marguerite Parkway. For more information, visit www.changtennis.com.
