John Keawekane spent this past weekend working to beautify the area, while putting himself in line to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America.
Armed with a shovel, about 80 volunteers, and a will to benefit the environment, John coordinated a landscape planting project on Jeronimo Open Space.
John of Boy Scout Troop 718 and his group planted 1,000 1-gallon plants in Jeronimo Open Space between Silleros and Arbolitos behind the homes.
This young man serves as an inspiration to many in the community, and the City is grateful for his contributions.
