Reservations are available for a special Aug. 19 program featuring award-winning, funny authors Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson.

The popular authors will appear in Mission Viejo’s Writers’ Present program at 7 p.m. at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.

Hailed as two of the nation’s funniest authors, Barry and Pearson will charm audience members while introducing their new book, “The Bridge to Neverland,” which is scheduled for release the second week in August.

Barry, who lives in Miami, is a Pulitzer Prize-winning author of more than two dozen books. Along with Pearson, he co-authored “Peter and the Starcatchers”; “Peter and the Shadow Thieve”; “Peter and the Secret of Rundoo”; “Peter and the Sword of Mercy”; “Science Fair”; “Escape from the Carnivale”; “Cave of the Dark Win”; and “BloodTide.”

Pearson is also the award-winning author of “Kingdom Keepers—Disney After Dark”; “Kingdom Keepers II— Disney at Dawn”; “Kingdom Keepers III—Disney in Shadow”; “Kingdom Keepers IV—Power Play”; as well as “Steel Trapp—The Challenge” and “Steel Trapp—The Academy.” Ridley and his family split their time between Missouri and Idaho.

This free, entertaining event, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Mission Viejo Library and a Whale of a Tale Bookshoppe, will feature a book signing for those who purchase books on site.
