From Lego Camps to the Target Pacific Symphony in the Cities annual concert in the park, the City’s Library and Cultural Services Department has a host of fun and educational summer classes, activities and concerts on tap.
Laguna Beach Community Concert Band
Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 9 when the Laguna Beach Community Concert Band performs at 7 p.m. at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.
The Laguna Concert Band, which is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization of more than 60 members, plays a wide array of music from marches and classics to holiday music, swing, jazz, Big Band and Dixieland.

Clay Camp
Instructor Meg Safford will help youngsters create imaginative and original art pieces using kiln-fired clay.
The Clay Camp class for kids ages 5-12 is from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. June 27-30. A “Glazing Day” follows on July 8. Beginning and more experienced students will learn the hand-building techniques used by professional potters.

Lego Camp
If your child likes to build bridges or motorized cars, then register for the LEGO camp that kicks off July 11.
The camp for ages 5-6 is from 9 a.m. to noon July 11-15 in the Saddleback Room at Mission Viejo City Hall, 200 Civic Center.
Through building cities, bridges and motorized cars and planes, the camp will teach students to become “play-well engineers” this summer. Students will explore the many creative possibilities of engineering with the LEGO system.

Pacific Symphony Concert July 30
The Pacific Symphony led by Musical Director Carl St. Clair returns to Mission Viejo on Saturday, July 30 in the City’s fun-filled summer ritual that caters to all ages.
The free event takes place on the Village Green at Oso Viejo Community Park, 24932 Veterans Way.
The festivities kick off at 4 p.m. with a hometown block party featuring music, family activities, games, and tasty home-style fare. At 5:30 p.m., a pre-concert “musical playground” for kids begins that includes a “conducting” clinic with Maestro St. Clair. Children will also have the opportunity to meet a musician, play a variety of musical instruments and make their own drum. The Pacific Symphony concert follows at 7 p.m.
