This movie is extremely entertaining and very well made. It has won many awards at film festivals all around the U.S. and is a can’t miss if you have any affinity for the music of the 60s. The sound track includes a continuous flow of hits from all the big stars of the era and will be played though a state of the art sound system. The film maker will be there for a Q & A session right after the show. I can’t wait! This really is a big deal!
Kate Anna McGarrigle comes remarkably close to being a perfect album and considering the limited experience the sisters had in the studio at the time the ease and confidence of their performances is extraordinary and Boyd and Prestopino teamed them up with a session crew capable of swinging from the heady joy of Kiss and Say Goodbye the abject sorrow of Go Leave and the wonder of Jigsaw Puzzle of Life and making it all sound rich and immediate. However she recorded the songs that became W H O K I L L in a professional studio with an engineer and a crew of musicians and the results are not only as vital and distinctive as what came before they find Garbus coming into her own. The enjoyment that Francis and crew display in channeling the film s devilish moments Astaroth The Conjuring as well as its tender ones The Flower Song Oh How I Wish I Could Stay is palpable even in The Golems edited state and the project suggests another exciting realm in which Francis can prove his talent.
