The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) is seeking applicants interested in serving as one of two “Public Members” on its board of directors. The board is responsible for all policy and decision-making for the Orange County Transportation Authority.
Interested applicants must reside in Orange County and should not be currently serving or have served in the past four years as an elected official of an Orange County city; an elected official of any agency or special district within Orange County; or as an elected official of the County of Orange. The individual selected for the post will serve a 4-year term.
Since Jan. 1, 2005, the voting members of the OCTA Board of Directors have been made up of five members of the Orange County Board of Supervisors, 10 members from various city councils around the county, and two members chosen from the public. A non-voting member representing Caltrans also sits on the board.
OCTA Board Members are responsible for attending public board meetings at 9 a.m. on the second and fourth Monday of every month at 600 South Main Street in Orange. They are also responsible for attending various committee meetings, special meetings and workshops.
Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a letter of interest accompanied by a personal resume (including any related transportation board or committee experience) of up to two pages to Wendy Knowles, OCTA clerk of the board, by close of business on July 8.
