If you are looking for the dog of your dreams, plan on attending the 17th Annual DAWG Walk, Pet Faire and Dog Adoption Event Saturday, June 18 on the Village Green at Oso Viejo Community Park, 24932 Veterans Way.
The Mission Viejo Animal Services Center and Dedicated Animal Welfare Group (DAWG) are hosting the fun-filled family event that includes an impressive display of K9 Athletes in Action, pet contests and pet and wildlife exhibits. Dogs – German Shepherds, Labradors, Shar Peis, Border Collies, Boxers, Greyhounds, Chihuahuas and Bichons – needing loving, new homes will be available for adoption. Saint Bernard Rescue (Adopt A Saint) will introduce folks to some gentle giants.
The event includes a pristine walk along the Oso Creek Trail and the Pet Faire, featuring local businesses, animal rescues, booths, entertainment, music, raffle prizes, refreshments and much more. Pet owners can sign up their dogs for the Best K9 Trickster; Best K9 Kisser or the Owner/Bowzer Look-Alike contest.
Registration starts at 7 a.m., with the DAWG Walk kicking off at 8:30 a.m.
The public can save $5 by pre-registering for the walk up until June 14. Cost is $25. After that, registration is available at the event for $30.
Proceeds benefit the animals at the Mission Viejo Animal Services Center at 28095 Hillcrest.
