The public is invited to the 2nd Annual Bathgate Elementary School Foundation Golf Extravaganza on Saturday at Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita.
Registration and a putting contest kicks off at 10:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. The barbecue lunch is at noon. An auction starts at 6 p.m. and a helicopter golf ball drop takes place a half-hour later. Anyone can participate in the helicopter golf ball drop by purchasing a golf ball for $10 or three balls for $25. Dinner follows at 7:30 p.m. The fun-filled May 21 event also includes raffles, and silent and live auctions.
Honda of Rancho Santa Margarita will sponsor a “Hole in One Contest” to benefit Bathgate students.
Bathgate Elementary School Foundation was founded last February to raise funds to enrich and improve the quality of the educational environment for the public school children attending Bathgate. Proceeds from this Golf Extravaganza are earmarked for a new computer lab, with officials hoping to raise the $40,000 necessary to purchase new computers.
The public can help by participating in the tournament and attending the dinner; purchasing golf balls for the golf ball drop; donating items for the auction; and sponsoring a tee, refreshment cart and such.
