Authorities are seeking information about suspicious men who have approached female students in Aliso Viejo and Mission Viejo.
An Aliso Niguel High School student reported that on Wednesday, May 4 she was approached by a man driving an older white van while she walked home from school at around 3:30 p.m. The man is described as Hispanic, 35-40 years old with dark hair and a dark mustache with flecks of gray. He was wearing a black T-shirt. He told the student that her parents were in a collision and he was asked to pick her up. The man drove off after the teen told him to leave her alone.
After seeing that incident on the news, a Mission Viejo Newhart Middle School 8th grade student reported a similar incident that happened on March 2. While walking to school at 9 a.m., she saw a large, white cargo van with tinted windows stopped along the curb. As she continued to walk, the van backed up and stopped next to her. Inside, she saw two Hispanic men, roughly 30 years of age with short dark hair. They drove away when the girl looked into the van and then slowly drove passed her again but did not motion to her or say anything.
Anyone with information about these or other incidents should call 714-647-7047.
