Tickets are available for the airing of a riveting documentary Saturday, May 7 that is bound to stir emotion in many.
The 48-minute documentary – “The closest Mexico to Japan” – airs at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 200 Civic Center.
The documentary by Shinpei Takeda reveals rather unknown history of Japanese community in Tijuana that has existed since the 1920s. Takeda, a documentary filmmaker and journalist, has initiated and conducted participatory photography programs in refugee camps in Thailand, Colombia and San Diego for the last 7 years.
