The City of Mission Viejo is once again partnering with Saddleback College KSBR Radio Jazz FM 88.5 to host exciting radio livecasts leading up to and during the Arts Alive Festival April 29-May 1.
The KSBR Radio Livecasts will take place at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 28 and from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 30. Visitors will enjoy the Blake Aaron Radio Show featuring Ellis Hall – multi-instrumentalist virtuoso and dynamic vocalist – on Thursday followed by the Breakfast with Gary and Kelly Show Saturday featuring jazz legend Diane Schuur.
Ellis Hall has performed and recorded with a literal “who’s who” of musical elite – Stevie Wonder, Patti LaBelle, George Benson, Michael McDonald, John Mayer, Herbie Hancock, Earth Wind & Fire, Natalie Cole, James Taylor, George Duke, Huey Lewis and the News, Taj Mahal and Ray Charles. He has been labeled “genius” without musical boundaries and is the quintessential vocalist/instrumentalist with a 5 octave range. In live performance Hall’s “soul stirring” voice is beyond the imagination with every show being an infectious ride of joy. See him at http://www.youtube.com/ellishallmusic.
Grammy Award-winning vocalist and pianist Diane Schuur inspires rave reviews across the globe as the new first lady of jazz. Known to personify the composer’s intentions of the Great American Songbook, Schuur swings with heartfelt intensity. She has collaborated with a range of artists from straight-ahead jazz trumpeter Maynard Ferguson and the swinging Count Basie Orchestra to the Latin-infused Caribbean Jazz Project to blues titan B.B. King and pop icon Stevie Wonder. See her at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAE9Stw2vmU.
