The 1st annual Headquarters Battalion benefit golf tournament “Tee It Up Fore Marines” garnered a sellout crowd today and was a huge success for Mission Viejo’s adopted troops.
Early morning rain cleared just in time for the 144 golfers, including 20 active-duty Marines, to tee off under sunny blue skies at the Marine Memorial Golf Course in Camp Pendleton.
The event is a fundraiser for Mission Viejo’s adopted Headquarters Battalion of the 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton. It was sponsored by Cox Communications, Waste Management, Kaleidoscope, Charles Abbott Associates, the Association of OC Deputy Sheriffs and others. The City is grateful to the sponsors and businesses that donated items for the opportunity drawing and auction.
“The City of Mission Viejo, the Mission Community Foundation and the Marine Adoption Committee volunteers are honored to have brought this tournament together in support of the on-going efforts to support the Marines, Sailors and families of Headquarters Battalion, First Marine Division,” said Mayor Dave Leckness.
