Art aficionados and those looking to enter the colorful realm of art are invited to a free Art Sampler Demo class on March 31.
The class is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way.
Led by expert Nancy Wahamaki, the demo will give folks a sneak peak at the fee-based Art Sampler class that takes place from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays April 7-April 28 at the community center.
Wahamaki is a sculptor and painter, who works with clay, oils, watercolor, acrylic, pen and ink, markers, pastel and mixed media.
“My art classes, with senior citizens and children alike, make a difference in people’s lives and that’s important to me,” she said.
Each week, Wahamaki will engage students with a different medium such as watercolor; sculpting in clay; painting with acrylic; and mixed media. No experience is necessary. Cost for the fee-based class is $55 plus a $20 lab fee payable to the instructor. Registration is available at eConnect.cityofmissionviejo.org by referencing course #2187.
