Seven people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol March 4 during the Orange County Sheriff’s DUI Taskforce.
The roving DUI patrol, which took place in Mission Viejo, Lake Forest and Rancho Santa Margarita, is designed to keep local streets safe. During the Friday evening patrol, 14 people were given field-sobriety tests; three unlicensed drivers were cited; and two people were cited for driving on a suspended license.
The taskforce is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
“This grant is greatly appreciated by Police Services because it gives us another weapon to utilize in keeping our residents safe by removing drunk drivers from the roadways,” said Lt. Mike Gavin, chief of Mission Viejo Police Services.
