A colorful art exhibit that is mirrored in the traditions, festivals and people of India is now on display at the Mission Viejo Library through February 4.
The impressive work belongs to Arun Prem, a Mission Viejo resident who grew up in India. He has exhibited his artwork at the library several times over the last five years. Prem’s paintings are primarily about color.
“The subjects are everyday people and places in India and elsewhere,” he said. “I try to capture the beauty in ordinary moments through the study of light and color. I like figurative and expressionist painting and enjoy working with oil paints.”
The paintings are on display during library hours, which are available at www.cmvl.org. Residents can also see more of Prem’s work by visiting www.OilPaintingsOfIndia.com.
The Mission Viejo Library is located at 100 Civic Center. For more information, call 949-830-7100.
