Free pertussis, or whooping cough, vaccinations will be offered to the community on January 7.
Mission Viejo’s walk-in clinic will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Veterans Way. The clinic is sponsored by the Orange County Health Care Agency.
County Health Care officials have said that residents should make sure they are up to date with their pertussis vaccination, but it is particularly important for adults and children who are in contact with infants under 1 year of age to receive their pertussis vaccine.
The vaccination clinic is for people 10 and older and those who have contact with infants under 12 months. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
